About me

An industrial engineer with more than 27 years dedicated to the paper and packaging industry, I have worked through every link in Saica's value chain: from plant-floor production to General Management of the Paper business (Saica Paper) and, today, I lead the technological innovation that is shaping the Group's future.

I began my career in 1997 at Arbora & Ausonia as a project engineer, before joining Saica in 1999. Since then I have taken on progressively greater responsibilities: production management, plant leadership in Spain and France, industrial and technical direction, nine years heading R&D&I, General Management of Saica Paper and, since 2024, leadership of the Group's Technology & Innovation function as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), driving the digital and technological transformation and the R&D&I agenda of an industrial group present in twelve countries across Europe and North America.

My approach combines engineering rigor with a strategic perspective focused on business objectives, innovative product design, industrial decarbonization and the digitalization of complex processes. I have led R&D projects backed by CDTI and financed through European funds (ERDF, Government of Aragón), and have spoken at leading industry forums such as Advanced Factories 2025.

I have led radical R&D initiatives, including the manufacture of 100% recycled Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE) — which gave rise to our Natur Cycle Plus business line — and the development of the fibre-free white coated paper behind Saica Paper's Infinite range, through a disruptive product and manufacturing-technology project worth €108M: the installation of the first Off-Line Machine Coater (OMC) that produces WTTL and WTTLC for the Containerboard market without using white fibre. Other projects have been backed by CDTI and financed through European funds (ERDF, Government of Aragón), and I have spoken at leading industry forums such as Advanced Factories 2025 and 2026.

In 2023, Saica Group opened its flagship R&D centre — which I sponsored — at the entrance to Europe's largest RCCM manufacturing site, consolidating all of our innovation capabilities for the Group's four business areas.

Since 2017, I have brought my industrial, executive and business expertise into corporate governance: contributing the perspective of an industrial technologist — rigorous, data-driven and committed to sustainability — within a Board of Directors, and supporting strategic decision-making guided by long-term value creation.
